The price of startups has sky rocked, which has attracted a new type of investor; we refer to as private stake holder investors. These investment groups are mostly small hedge fund managers and a new type of venture capitalists.
We call them; “Investment Wolfpacks” because they band together to buy early stage ventures, before the new venture has proof of concept or a history of earnings. They not only buy an equity stake in the business venture being offered, they get first rights to all business ideas the entrepreneur will have in the future without offering any additional compensation for the exclusive rights. These Investment Wolfpacks are buying up to 50 new ventures at a time, with no plans to develop all of them. They search for the few that show promise in a short period of time, all others are discarded.
New entrepreneurs give up a large portion of their ownership to these Wolfpack Investors. Once funded, many of these companies are moved to other locations, many times out of state. This new investment strategy is slowing and sometimes killing new jobs creation for local communities that use to count on new enterprises to create new jobs. Innovative Entrepreneurs are found in entrepreneurial focused generations and are the people’s answer to the concentrated wealth in the hands of the top 1% of the world’s richest people.
Therefore, it’s imperative that all family members be on the lookout for next generation entrepreneurs in their families. Early stage investing is the hottest new field in the private equity market; it’s so lucrative a special market had to be established exclusively for the “Private Equity Market, for early stage startups”...more
